Off-Grid Native LED Display Industry White Paper Completes Expert Final Review, Set for Official Release

On September 3, 2026, under the organization of the Shenzhen Semiconductor Industry Development Promotion Association, the white paper on the off-grid native display industry—drafted primarily by Auroptix—completed its final expert review at the association’s office.
Following on-site review and revisions, the white paper was unanimously approved and signed off by the entire expert panel. It will now proceed to the typesetting and printing stages and will be officially released at a later date.

Why “Off-Grid Self-Powered Displays”?
As the global energy structure continues to transform and the demand for outdoor digital information grows steadily, the traditional LED display model—which relies heavily on grid power—is facing new application challenges.
In numerous outdoor settings such as rural areas, islands, fishing ports, scenic spots, and along roadsides, the question “Can digital information be displayed even without grid power?” is emerging as a new market demand in the display industry. Off-grid self-powered displays are a new type of display solution created specifically to address this need.
By integrating technologies such as LED displays, photovoltaic power generation, wind power generation, energy storage, and smart control, off-grid self-powered displays can reduce or even eliminate dependence on traditional grid power, enabling display equipment to have a more independent energy supply capability. Scenarios that previously required “solving the power supply issue first, then the display issue” are now embracing a new approach.

The unanimous approval by the expert review panel also signifies that off-grid self-powered displays are gradually transitioning from product exploration by individual companies to a new phase of shared focus among a broader range of industry participants.
